@Nancy They actually sell very specific swim shirts! They're made out of a lycra material similar to the one women's bathing suits are made from.
Can someone explain to me "lastin'" (instead of "lasting") in 58A? Thanks!
Definitely a fun puzzle! One answer I don't get: 118A, Root word? The answer was OLE. Can someone explain? Thx!
@HeathieJ What a terrible thing to go through! And having to relive it at trial, awful. I wanted to suggest you watch the movie! It's really wonderful.
@Ruby Lovely ideas! Someone in another comment thread came up with the Curies as NUCLEAR FAMILY, which I really like.
@Dave Agreed! I grew up in the Northeast, but I say "drawers" with an aw sound, not an o sound.
@DT Ah, that makes so much sense! I also had CHI and couldn't figure out what CDT meant even after I got it with the cross.
@NYC Traveler I loved the puzzle (wow! that took a ton of design and planning!) but was annoyed with the online experience and instructions--I was "twisting" the letters as I finished each lock, so I couldn't understand why my puzzle was coming out as incorrect. It wasn't until I went back and untwisted all of them that it worked!
@Vaer I agree with both of your points. Seems a weird oversight--and one the NYT editors should not have allowed--to have literally all of these original thinkers be men.
@B Where do you see this article? I'm a subscriber, and I don't see it!
@Reuben JONAS crossed with ODOM was a nightmare for me! I don't know who these people are.
@Barry Ancona I'm an editor, too, and I admit I was giggling at every long answer!
@Kevin Actually, I can't get it to give me a finished puzzle with just empty squares... and I can't figure out the double letter in the SE corner, so I can't finish the puzzle! Argh!
Can anyone help me with the rebus in the SE corner? My crossword won't give me the win leaving the circled squares empty, so I need to figure out the double letter, and can't seem to!
