This has to be my personal record for most typos in a puzzle I managed to actually find and still get a gold star out of 🤦‍♂️

Sorry for those who had no help. I had underlines and if I had got SPA correct this would've been my fastest Thursday. Even so, I was beyond delighted with this puzzle. I'm glad I took a break from the crossword for most of December. I wasn't enjoying myself, but yesterday and today have been delights.

Since the circled letters really didn't seem all that necessary to get the puzzle, and were more for fun, I didn't mind so much that I ended up confusedly asking, "look, I'm a Dea hat?" Heard of the musical, but just haven't seen it. Though now reading the wiki while trying to find what song the lyric had to be from to find the correct words, I'm not a lot more interested. Love this painting. Otherwise, this was a really nice Wednesday puzzle.

@Barry Ancona I truly have never seen the word with an S at the end. Even in plural context, I have only seen it written as Taro.

@Dave I did as well, which is how I learned that Ixnay is itself now in the OED as a word, so I guess makes it no longer explicitly pig-latin in the sense of it being it's own English slang now.

@Kevin D I only got the 'theme' because of the Witherspoon clue. Personally I don't really see much of a theme because the wordplay isn't all that unique to each character, if that makes sense? Otherwise, the first puzzle this year I truly enjoyed solving that wasn't a Monday.

@Ben Barton huge MCU fan and this was the first time I learned that the movies up until Far From Home are considered a separate saga from the rest. Seems arbitrary to me, but ok. I only ever knew them as phases. I'm sure I've heard the phrase Infinity Saga, but I just never would have considered it to be a like, separate enough thing for this answer to have ever occurred to me without crosses.
