@Barry Ancona Yes, understood it, after the fact. The clue I read is “*Emirate” and not “irate, starting with the letter M.” I’ve been doing this crossword sine I retired. I might prefer going back to work.
Hands and feet are “Units”? Did I learn something new or is this just not so? Maybe crosswords aren’t my thing. Too many clues don’t make sense even after the grid is filled.
I hated this one more than any other. *Emirate is “MADASHELL”? Come on, man. It seems that some of these puzzles are about how cute the clues can be.
@Andrzej It’s not just you. A “No Parking” sign in the States is not an N Sign, so I’m not sure how we can figure out “No Parking” from “N Sign”, even if you got “N Sign” from “*Ensign”
How many internet searches does a solver allow themselves while still considering it a successful solve? These clues are auto-filled as you type the first few letters in Google.
