To the editor who realized this could be a rebus and decided it didn't have to be a rebus, THANK YOU. Fun and challenging without the frustration of realizing I have to go around and figure out how to type in the extra letters.
Look, you can do a clever and tricky Thursday puzzle without resorting to a rebus! Nice one, fun concept, and I like the mix of new clues for common words - and now I want ravioli for dinner.
For the love of all that is holy, don't move the mini to app-only. Everything doesn't need to be an app. I have more apps than I want already and I find doing crosswords with my thumbs instead of a keyboard much more frustrating than fun.

Me: "I haven't done the Times crossword in months, I should start doing that again for the new year." Me, 5 minutes later: Discovers the rebus. Me, 6 minutes after that: Well it's solved but I remember now why I lost interest in the Times crossword puzzles. Rebuses, especially when entering electronically, are a PITA.
@Jonathan Leal Agree! Jabber and Yammer I know, but never once came across "yabber."
It's bad enough to have multiple letters in one box on Thursdays, why are we extending Rebus Hell to Wednesdays? At least let us use the number if the answer has a number in it, Rebuses are a PITA.
Bad enough to have rebuses on Thursday, why are they bleeding into Wednesday? At least you could have let us use the numbers for both boxes, entering rebuses on digital is a PITA.
@Tom Bantle It accepted 4 but did not accept my 2 until I spelled it out.
