@Masonbee I came to post this! It’s the second time in a few weeks that I’ve seen KPH as an answer with Autobahn in the clue. If done “correctly “ as KMH the down answer would have been METALS — so it’s not as though the P was absolutely necessary.

@Elbridge Gerry I had OARS for quite a while, thinking vaguely about the end of The Great Gatsby and figuring that long oars are probably harder to beat than short ones.
