I never get these Thursday grumblings. This was a good puzzle, cute little trick, solvable. Thumbs up from me.

Unlike most, I thought this was a pretty clever little art-heist mystery hidden in the puzzle. To those complaining that the stolen answers are technically painters and not paintings, maybe it helps to recall that paintings are often referred to using the painter's name, as in, "It's a Monet." In this puzzle, think of it like this: Which painting was stolen? The Monet was stolen!!! See? It works. Agree though that it would have helped if the puzzle had done the linked clue highlighting in both directions. I stared at BOS for ages not realizing it was part of the thene before I finally figured out that it was linked to Degas, which I had solved much earlier before I'd realized what was happening w the theme (I fully missed the note explaining it, so it was a discovery mission for me from the start).
