Loved the puzzle — smooth and perfect for a Monday! But what kind of monster puts KALE in a Caesar salad?
@jlady Count me in for the same thought about 65A when I had __ITHAPPENS!
Had to brute force the cross of CAYS and LAYETTE. Probably old hat answers to crossword veterans but dramatically higher difficulty to this newbie.
@Brian And the grid features an umimpeded line from NW to SE. Though I suppose that would technically be y = -x !
Streak marked safe from the hardest puzzle in a while. UH-OH is two words (sounds?) in my book, so I may have said OOPS and OUCH for a couple of hours on this one!
I couldn’t quite place it, but anyone else feel like they’d seen 13D somewhere before?
Fun puzzle and a great debut, Mr. Walden! Only one question-mark clue (do these clues have a name?), but it was worth every EURO! Park Rangers in the NW got me thinking… has there ever been a NYT quadrant themed puzzle? Especially one where geographically knowledge helped solve each of the quadrants?
My first Ezersky without a lookup! I was so pleased. I don’t know all the constructors by any means, but after struggling for a while, I had a hunch and looked at the info page — saw the constructor’s name and then Wil’s credit and vowed to resist. And 12 hours after starting it, a real feeling of accomplishment! Definitely a challenge, so thanks, you two.
WELL WELL, that was a nice diversion from all the expensive commercials this evening.
It was a tough one, but that didn’t PHASE me. Fun idea and great execution, even if SONORITY doesn’t really roll off the tongue. So I’m the only one who saw a cute dog with big ears on the grid, right?
Don’t need black coffee or to stay up until three. This puzzle’s too sweet for me 🎶
Thought I was on my way to a record, but after insisting on DOGPOSES I was indeed bringing up the rear. Time to get on my SPYSHIP and put this one ONICE. All for the LOLS, right?
@Adam (Though I guess I itself can’t be real now that I think of it. Emus, have mercy on me and remove my comment?)
@Lou Scheffer Except that complex (i.e. imaginary) numbers actually are all real numbers!
@Jared I was so proud to have fit in FLUTE MUSIC!
