Loved this brilliant puzzle! I didn’t realize these were anagrams until I was done. And then we get a few more in the constructor notes! Love SHINGLE for English, I’ll be thinking about this one for a while. Truly enjoyable. Thanks.
I was literally sitting on a plane doing this crossword and could read what was written on the wing out my window. It said “Do not stand in this area.” So I was baffled at 67A and it became the last clue I solved.
Loved this one, I’m currently enrolled in Beginner Spanish so right up my alley! Taking the class for pure enjoyment of the language a few nights a week is much better than force feeding it in school (French)
Though I’ve heard the word PUTTEES many times in song, this is the first time I’ve seen it written. The blue puttees were a regiment of soldiers from Newfoundland (before it was part of Canada) sent to join the allied forces in WW1. But since we have only black and white pictures of that time, you’ll have to use your imagination. https://www.heritage.nf.ca/first-world-war/articles/recruiting-the-newfoundland-regiment.php
@Desert Dweller in addition, the cup resides at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto and members of the winning team each get a day with the cup and every Canadian player brings it to their home town
@Cherry thanks for dots to DITS I added 4 minutes trying to find the same mistake 🫤
@Michael Zand It seems there wasn’t an easy mode today. I started the regular puzzle last night and when I clicked the link for the easy mode this morning instead of opening in a webpage as usual it went back into the app and the puzzle I had already started with the clues the same. I gave up after several tries and just finished it 5 minutes faster than average!! I amazed myself that I didn’t need the help after all.
@Don H totally agree on the highlighting. I found today’s italics hard to read (using an iPad) and the highlighting would have been a big help.
@Ian same here, nothing at first then there they were
@Aletheia so frustrating! I find it’s usually a vowel that’s in error. One of your O’s could be a zero?
