My 3000th puzzle ever! Super fun, northeast corner had me for a while bc while my initial answer made zero sense (sohes/hustle) I thought surely I had a mistake in MOCAPSUIT, but eventually got the right sub letter. Loved the Pokémon and Mario references! For those of us (me) who are too young for most of headlines puzzle and felt frustrated, it felt good to have those as gimmes :)

Wow my streak of 770 nearly broken by that messy messy middle section - I do love a tricky puzzle but one that needs cleverness to solve as opposed to slogging it out to figure out random names and naticks. I do love reading the last headline though whenever it comes my way. And the now classic: “when an eel climbs a ramp to eat a squid from a clamp, that’s a moray”

Super tricky and surprisingly hard for a Sunday but fun! Finally beat my last streak at 833 days!

Southwest corner - Main for Ocean is a stretch, but Appa and Desi are quite familiar to any Asian person, or if you've ever watched any TV shows featuring Korean or Indian characters...

Fastest Thursday ever at 5:24! Clever puzzle in the construction and fun in that there were no real naticks and a lot of fun clues though it did feel a little too easy for a Thursday esp since you could just answer the schroedinger’s clues either way without a rebus and still get the solve. Thursday-Sat are my faves, for the joy of figuring out the fun tricky bit on Thursday and then just the difficulty level for the others, so a little bit of a letdown for one I look forward to.

Really fun puzzle overall, loved the clever bird theme! A little straightforward for a Thursday imo but thought it was fun. Obeli and melisma are new to me but had no problems with the crosses

what a great and super fun Thursday puzzle. I played so much Q*BERT back in the day and have been to see THE STARRY NIGHT many times so that was my first clue! I also remember the jingle for BARQS - “Barq’s root beer has bite and it’s available in your area” and drank my fair share. I got super super stuck on HRS not knowing if it was right bc it didn’t make sense, and then PSI flummoxed me for a very long time - had PEI/OMELETE and guessed that maybe it was a reference to the 23rd Canadian province?? Once I learned that Canada has nowhere near that number I eventually got it but it took an embarrassingly long time! Whew on the panic of almost breaking my streak!

@Steve L because for those of us who don’t follow baseball it made zero sense - kept trying to make it work in the musical meaning of popular songs.

@Beth in Greenbelt Not a complaint but I will say that was what tripped me up until I realized! Spent too long wondering where the error was and if maybe there was an African black GAMBA :)
