Deb, interesting that you read 46D to mean “STRIP off one’s clothes” - I just assumed it meant STRIP the threads from a screw. Nice double meaning for that clue!
I thought the revealer was going to be “turducken” - the hen inside the duck inside the turkey. But MATRYOSHKADOLLS was just as good.
8D would have been a much better clue if we hadn’t just had “ID tags” with the same “hidden Idaho” a couple of days ago. Too bad these ran so close together.
A certain amount of crosswordese is to be expected, but ACER? RAWR? ATNO? INSP? Really?
Great puzzle! Loved the long down entries. I had almost nothing my first time through, but slowly filled in the east side, then the northwest, and finally the southwest. Nice job!
@Kathleen Adams Use the “contact us” link at the bottom of the games page to send them an email. They will fix it, and restore your streak.
@SP I assume it is Aaron Burr
@maya and ant “Beefeater” is a brand of gin (that starts with B, so it’s a “B gin”)
@Niall I think it’s a bowling pin - part of a bowling “spare”
@Anthony It refers to Greek letters that rhyme - beta, eta, zeta, theta - so eta is one of four.
@Barry Ancona Looks like the 22A clue is different also. Yes, very weird.
Can someone explain 32A? What is STIES and what does it have to do with the clue?
@Boggler You wear a watch on your wrist.
