@Bonnie Ann I can relate. I often find that after taking a break from a baffling puzzle, more answers come to me when I return. Maybe our subconscious keeps working on it.

@Francis I get some of the crossers, then look at the partial word and fill in the blanks with letters that make it a word, even though the clue seems irrelevant. (Ok, it makes no sense, but it’s Thursday.) So now I have more clues to the other crossers, and I go from there.
