Can someone please comment on the illustration which accompanies today's Gameplay. Is it a toy, or is there a real-life Gargantua eatery somewhere in the world, and if so, where is it? It is the kind of kitcsh that I love and I very much hope it is real!
I was able to solve the puzzle - it took a bit longer than my Saturday average, but it wasn't extreme. Once I got the "attack words that might be spoken as a compliment", I immediately got "human cannonball" and then more or less everything fell into place. However I came here in order to find out what "locs" is or are, and why it can be described as a "protective hairstyle". I hope someone can explain?
@Withnail I didn't need to know 'Under The Volcano' - for some reason I had just enough down letters to see Dia de los Muertos almost right away. It might have come to me easily since I live in a fairly heavily Mexican-American area. Agreed (along with many other commenters) about 'mites', and yes, moil annoyed me given how appropriate 'toil' should have been there. What I had to cheat on though was 'obeli' as publisher's marks...
