@A.R.So what is term you prefer to refer to someone who lives out their gender assigned at birth and those that don't? My eldest lives a different gender than was assigned to them at birth, and I do not. What terms do you prefer to "cis" to distinguish from how I live my gender and how my child lives theirs? Or do you not accept that this is a legitimate choice and therefore have no need to have a word to refer to it?

Generally easy for Thursday, but 51D/62A was a serious Natick for me requiring a Google look up for spellings (which doesn't count as cheating, right? RIGHT?)

I love Schrodinger's puzzles but I didn't figure out this was one until I finished it and the rebus squares showed up. Sorry I didn't twig on to the theme earlier. The "I figured out the trick for the Thursday puzzle" is frequently a rush!

I am the total Thursday puzzle fan. The wilder the concept, the more out of the box, the more happy I am. I have never been angry with the constructor when I don't get a puzzle theme. But, this may be the first themed puzzle to raise my dander. No one refers to a pundit as a "P authority" or simply as a "P." Having the only connection between the clue word and the answer being the first letter seems pretty tenuous connection on which to hang a puzzle theme. Other than the theme, I thought it was a good puzzle and I enjoyed the solve, but for the theme, not a fan

I am a sucker for any animated puzzle (my favorite being the Pride puzzle that flashed rainbow colors when completed) so I loved it. I do wish there had been a theme for the words resulting from leaving the "Ts" in, but that would probably be close to impossible, so I'll be happy with the puzzle as it is.

@Ken This cross bothered me too. I was pretty happy with the puzzle, though. I had the good "Aha" moment I Iook for in a Thursday puzzle.

@Jake I did get the theme, as I believe I made clear in my post. I understand that the first initial of "pundit" corresponds to the "p" in the answer: that a pundit is an authority that has p as its first letter. I just think that the only link between the answer and the clue is the the first initial is a pretty thin basis for a puzzle theme.

@The X-Phile It was a quick solving Wednesday'ish puzzle, but I thought the puns of the theme clues were Thursday level clever.

@Clemens Congrats! I too didn't think I'd ever solve a rebus puzzle. I still remember the first one I got, where the rebus was various makes of cars. I felt like a genius for two days, until the next Saturday puzzle brought me back to earth.

@Eric Ressner When I am on a streak and wonder how to enter multiple letters in a square, I allow myself a quick glance at the answer key to see how they were entered, and trying not to look at the specific letters. That's not cheating the streak, is it?
