SIGIL was a new one for me. But I did come up with a new term: PROM rock. "Stairway to Heaven" anyone? (I'm showing my age.)
Smew? Who knew? Maybe a few.
I'm in awe of this puzzle. Up until now my favorite was BOB DOLE/CLINTON, but this tops that in my book.
I was really beginning to hate this puzzle until suddenly I loved it.
My last keystroke was changing DADJOKES into BADJOKES. Really the same thing, AMIRITE?
I had GAMS for baguettes, not knowing about the gems. It makes a kind of sense when you think about it, and are as old as I am. They are long and slender after all.
But I don't like Spam!
@Andrzej I am positive that the English translation of that particular word would not have been published in this prim and proper paper. I worked in an orchestra with quite a few Poles, and whenever the conductor (in rehearsal) told the orchestra to start at letter 'K', there was a fusillade of 'kurwas' from the Polish members and laughter from everyone who knew what the word meant.
