It might be nice to have a column talking about the right proportion of proper noun trivia entries. What are editors looking for, when does it become too much, what is too esoteric, that sort of thing. Puzzles like this where there are multiple chunks of trivia entries with very few wordplay crosses are some of my most frustrating.

It’s properly “chile paste.” Chile is the name of a fruit from the capsicum anuum. Chili is a stewed dish often containing chiles.
CHILe is the name of any number of varieties of capsicum anuum. CHILI is a dish that often contains CHILes.
