Really cool. In some cases, the clues are more closely related than the author seems to indicate. Tesla, the car company is named for Tesla, the physicist. The term "pin" for a post is a direct reference to physical bulletin boards. And, of course, the two clues for Elan are just synonyms for each other. But that doesn't take away from the fun of this puzzle. Excellent Wednesday entry!
