A nice Monday puzzle to ease myself back into the Crossword after a long hiatus. Congratulations on the debut, Ms. Winters!
This was the first crossword I've solved in months and I thought it was a nice little warmup for getting back into the swing of things. Then I read the comments and found out I'm old because I didn't struggle with some of the apparently ancient references. (For the record I'm only in my mid-30s. But maybe that IS old.)
Alright, I thought I struggled unusually with yesterday's puzzle and today's puzzle confirmed it. I solved the Tuesday puzzle in half the time it took me to solve the Monday puzzle. Wonder what was wrong with me yesterday?!
I thought this was going to be my first 100% unassisted Sunday puzzle, but I ended up having to check the key to find a typo. Maybe next week.
I actually LOLed when I figured out TURDUCKEN. One of my better Fridays.
I typically breeze through Monday puzzles but this one managed to slow me down a bit towards the end. Thankfully "FOP" is one of the many words I picked up from watching Frasier.
Days like this make me wish the "breakfast test" were real; I can't say I was a fan of ACRID crossing with ODORS, especially in a puzzle involving so many food-related entries. Yuck.
Some friends of mine watch Vanderpump Rules religiously. I've never seen a single episode and don't really have any idea what it's about, but when I was in Las Vegas last year I felt compelled to have a drink at Vanderpump Cocktail Garden and send my friends lots of pics to make them jealous!
