COTTA means cooked and TUTTI means everyone. Those irked me a bit. Al forno would be baked, intero is entire.

Not that I was gonna use it šŸ‘€ but the answer key linked in this column is mislinked to a key from August 2018.

As a programmer in my mid-30s, I’m wondering if any older programmers have heard the term EVICTS used for memory. I definitely have not!

Uh oh, feeling compelled to comment. Calling RAM a computer’s storage space is a bit painful. RAM is extremely short-term memory meant to hang onto things temporarily while you work. Referring to it as storage space just feels wrong. There was plenty of room in those spaces for HDD, SSD, or anything better.

@Ashley And this is what I get for commenting before completing the puzzle šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ my mistake!

As a tech person, I had to look up whether DSL is still defined as ā€œbroadbandā€ despite maxing out around 25mbps. The answer? For now, yes— but not for long! Looks like 100mbps is the minimum on the horizon, which will render this clue/answer pairing obsolete. Today I learned!

@David S Completely agree with daal and emirs— thought there was no way they could be the answers with those lengths. But I live next to a solar farm, those are real and becoming more common ā˜€ļøšŸ”‹

Is it a rule that ETSY must be mentioned at least once per week? The other sites must be feeling left out by now

I’m sure I’m not the only stoner in these comments, and may not be the first to point it out: Indo (as used in the chorus of Gin n Juice, familiarly) is short for indica, the type of cannabis famous for ā€œcouch-lockā€ (unless you’re adhd like me, where the inverse sativa types tend to have that effect.) As far as I’m aware, there is no special term for pot grown indoors. Commercially, that would be pretty much all of it.

Really enjoyed this one. You’re young so ā€œTV TAPEā€ is forgivable. Your youngness made the rest of the puzzle as fun as it was though! Always a proud millennial when I get a gen z slang clue 😁

Maybe my favorite Sunday yet. Definitely a PR and still a fun challenge. Great puzzle!

@Mark DelGiudice ā€œTrain tripā€ is also new to me, but ā€œdo not wantā€ is a millennial favorite.

@Cyclist yup. It has very little to do with kebab presentation-wise. We basically call anything grilled over a skewer a kabob here lol, veggies or meat.

@Anonymous yes, technically it is a form of storage. Similar to how placing something on a shared surface while completing a task is technically storage for that period of time. But can you imagine a crossword clue labeling a table as storage?

@Evan So true, and not the first time. Every time I see ANOS as an answer I giggle and hold myself back from screenshotting for friends who don’t play the game

@St Paul 1 I used it today! Chuckled when I saw the clue afterward, definitely not something I use daily

@dlr that’s fascinating. I’m a current dev, only for the last decade or so. I’ve never had to consider the terminology effect from before long-term storage was a given. Even when it was a 5400RPM 2GB HDD, i feel lucky that it was always just there in my lifetime.
