I’m stuck at the hospital watching over my dad, and I desperately needed something absorbing to take my mind off things. This was a truly delightful distraction. I thank the constructors for making a bad night a tiny bit better. Ya gotta nother one?
This broke my streak, but it was worth it!! My fatal error was insisting the top right was “don’t tread on me.” Doesn’t matter, this was a fantastic puzzle.
This was fantastic! My favorite in recent memory. I was frustrated, then inspired, then thrilled. Oh man, I give thanks for this puzzle. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely loved this one. Shading would have worked, but I really enjoyed the “aha!” moment I got due to the novel little yellow dots (in the app version). This felt very fresh and clever.
But … like, is it THE Gary Larsen?
Came here to see if others were perplexed by the homonyms, was not disappointed. I think what bothers me most is the Jeff Chin pointing out the homonyms without mentioning why. I mean, there are lots of guesses, but he could clear things up in a flash. Absolutely great puzzle otherwise.
Wonderful theme today! So much much-needed dopamine from that “aha” moment!
Very very clever, but way too easy. I should despair when I first look at a Friday puzzle, and seethe when I realize my only reward for solving it is an even harder Saturday one.
Stern? Someone explain it to me.
@Amy K Sorry. Jeff Chen. I'd love to say I was passively-aggressively making a typo on purpose, but it was really just me typing in bed without my glasses.
Oh my god. That … was amazing. I loved it!
@Catherine Patterson I think that’s a bit of a spoiler isn’t it? I didn’t think we talked about the mini here.
This is odd. When I was still getting “horsefeathers!” while finding no errors, I checked the puzzle - all was well, it just marked all the rebuses wrong. Anyone else?
@Helen Wright but I thought ska was fast, and this particular song was reggae?
@Bill this was the clue I came here to talk about. D’OH!
@Ivy ohhhhhhhhhh god I’m an idjit.
Ok guys, that was a fun puzzle, but can someone explain EXETER to me?
