I enjoyed this puzzle. I’m not a skilled solver and it was a record for me. More importantly my Sunday streak is now 33 weeks. I’m getting closer to my retirement goal of completing a year of Sunday crosswords - a goal nobody in my actual life understands and some of you might!

Wow, definitely different strokes for different folks here. I really enjoyed this puzzle. I felt like it only took me 15 minutes although it was like 36 . You can see I’m not a really skilled solver, but I did know many of the clues. I would really like to that I recommend “All the Light We Cannot See” by Anthony DOERR . I was happy to see this entry! My only nitpick is - is this really a themeless puzzle. Seemed to me like “Great Scrabble Words” wild fit pretty well.

I really enjoyed this puzzle. I could not figure out the trick, but I learned I don't know much about WWI (I thought the battle clue was either SOMME or MARNE) and I might try to correct that. I had to get crosses for all the German clues, and I have no interest in learning German but that candy sounds very good. Now that I read the column and know what the trick is I respect the cleverness. Maybe some day I'll learn to notice the circled letters. I did find figuring out all the long entries from crosses was manageable and I had a great time.

This was a fine puzzle but took me half an hour longer than yesterday’s puzzle

With Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday ... this has been a great week of puzzles. It's even possible that my son and husband's eyes won't glaze over when I tell them about this one.

Really tun and I needed some fun today. I guessed 4 letters of wordle by the second guess … and somehow convinced myself the actual word would not be correct. I too loved Ewing MENOPAUSE in this conversation. The only hint I needed was on SNOCAPS/CAPT/. I am an American but I ate a SNOCAP once and decided not to finish the package so I have a hard time thinking of them as “candy”

My solving skills are modest but I vividly remember hearing a report on a book by Rabelais in high school French, and I was a longtime All My Children watcher. I really enjoyed the puzzle . Some fun clues.

This was a very fun puzzle! Took me 10% longer than my average time but felt quick , easy & fun. Thanks!

Perhaps I was the only one who thought 57A could have been WEBKINS. Or were they WEBKINZ? Darn they were cute . Fun puzzle though !
