Never in my life have I heard Not worth a SOU. Seems really obscure for a Monday.

Themeless puzzle? No way. This was 100% a “Home Alone” theme, and not just because of OHARE. You’ve got a France reference, LIGHT TIMER, and ERGO (though that’s a subtle “Home Alone 2” entry). Maybe I’ve just been watching it too much on TV this holiday season, but I hope the ties were intentional.

I hate to be one of those people, but in art speak “tone” is a color mixed with grey and “tint” is a color mixed with white. If you were changing the tone of a color you would be tinting it for the first time, not RETINTing it. Right? Or should I EMEND my thinking on this?

@Larry R I gave up on trying to see them and just resolved to read the revealed words in the article.

@Jim Aha! Good to know. I will EMEND my statement about my thought, and only ask if I should change it.

@Barry Ancona I did, but to me the question mark usually indicates a pun or wordplay, and the misuse of tint is not punny to me. Haha. A better answer would be LIGHTEN UP.
