Hi, I’m a pretty new solver and just want to say I solved this fun puzzle in 9 minutes, which I’m sure is molasses to experienced ones, but I am feeling very pleased! Forgive my little crow!
I clung on to “Canada resorts” for far too long, thinking “you bet!” was a folksy Canadianism (much more Midwestern now that I think about it…). Even though I knew the crosses should be what they ended up being (board, disease, photo)! The sigh of relief when I let go of that word and it all fell beautifully into place!
Wow this was fun! 20 mins with no look-ups—I think my new and enthusiastic crossword archive playing is starting to help, along with just being on the same wavelength as the constructor today—thanks for a brilliant romp—couldn’t stop smiling as everything dropped into place!
@Francis As a former Kentuckian who just got back from a visit, I feel committed to finding out every day whether Eddie done did the puzz or if the puzz was too hard.

@John Carson It sure looked like “charcoal” was in there somewhere, somehow, which was a diabolical and beautiful misdirect it took me awhile to let go of!
@Cody I guess I am that specific range, as a film and book lover who has bought clothes for a soccer-loving child, does the dishes, and watches calories! BUT, never watched The Jetsons, so had “Enroy” til the bitter end….
