My invalid aunt still retained a sharp mind and every day I’d phone so we could do the NYT puzzle together. I’m completing this one alone wiping the happy tears from my glasses as I think of her. Thank you for this gift.

Just call me Smarty Pants! Did a Wednesday puzzle sans hints. Makes up for my struggles last Sunday.
Roger Maris was very kind to me when at age 12 I rushed across the street for an autograph. He ruffled my hair and it stayed unwashed for two weeks. My parents had to drag me to the sink. He did a tour at the Big Bear Grocery store. One of best days of my life.

On vacation here in Indio CA and an earthquake hit as I was trying to solve the puzzle.That’s my excuse for having a tough time finishing. I’m all shook up.

Could simply not complete today’s puzzle without enjoying a bowl off cereal. That is how I used to watch morning cartoons.

This puzzle gave me PTSD. The time the airport bathroom was out of order 5min before flight was boarding. When my term paper looked like my dog chewed it after it got stuck in the printer.
My brain is hurting. So tempted to look at answer key but will heat up my tea and keep on. Germs made me laugh and remember.

@G I had sweet corn and copper river salmon while doing the puzzle as my underwear washed.
I got Gabor and now the Green Acres song is stuck in my head, though it was the other sister. Stream of consciousness happens doing the crossword.
And here I was hoping that working the puzzle would help me forget the pain of watching the Mariners lose out on the going to World Series.
@Marty. We are opposites. This is my new fav of the year. I so enjoyed working out the clues while going down memory lane. I so miss witty critics like Ebert and Shalit.
