@Lizzie I thought maybe it was a reference to the John Pauls, but I looked it up and apparently the 16th John was an antipope (and so he doesn’t count) and the number 20 was skipped because the 21st Pope should’ve been the 20th, but he accidentally counted John 14 twice…
@LARRY in the clues with an exclamation point you’re usually solving for the pronoun — in this case, “it”. Hth!

@Kathy hirsh most of the mandolin players in my local picking circle use a capo. Maybe it’s regional? I think b/c it’s a Saturday they didn’t want to clue it as guitar to make it “harder”.
