@Francis - Not all of us are fortunate enough to have debit or credit cards or even bank accounts (or subscribe to the NYT or participate in this discussion). Though I have read that nickels also cost more to produce than they're worth. Maybe we should at least leave dimes.

@Jennifer - Just found this out - it's a pit of corn kernels, not cobs. https://www.utahfarmbureau.org/Article/Corn-Pit

@sue Aaaargh - forgive "pleases" too, if you can.

@Barry Ancona - What does -30- mean?

@Cindy - Thanks, Cindy! I'm working on my laptop, but I was able to see the animation on a different browser.

@Andrzej A fishing rod holds a line.

@SP Sad and scary.

@Andrzej - In hide and seek, when you tag someone they become "it". Many congratulations on your upcoming retirement, Deb! I always enjoy solving the puzzles but your column adds more fun. And I appreciate your links to related videos, etc. (Special thanks for the link to Cynthia Arivo's song in Wicked.)

@sue - Thanks, Andrew, Matt, and Andrzej!!j

@Nora - I was thinking of bridge. I figured out the answer by the same logic you used but left it blank for a while because of my confusion over the suit rank. https://www.reddit.com/r/NoStupidQuestions/comments/dmmuex/what_is_the_hierarchy_of_the_suits_in_cards/ gives conflicting answers. https://darwinsdata.com/what-is-the-order-of-symbols-in-a-deck-of-cards/ gives the ranking I listed but says suit rank does not apply in bridge. It did when I played (over 50 years ago, and badly).

@Grant - Common or not, that division of labor worked well for this team. This was a fun puzzle (though I'm not great at sports trivia). Took me forever to get the upper left corner because I thought 3D [Ding thing?] was either 'bell' or 'gong'.

@Wyra - There's animation?

@SP - Without the visual clue that the capital needed to be raised, I forgot to read the capital's name in reverse in your answer. So I went to look up what AWATTO was the capital of and found this: https://www.reddit.com/r/ottawa/comments/arsyuq/welcome_to_the_fine_city_of_awatto_the_city_that/

@jas Thank you! I finally realized that this what @Nora was trying to tell me. I read too much into the clue.

@SP Still working on your puzzle - it is a tough one, but fun!

@SP Meant to add - I like the theme!
