Too scattered. too ill-fitting. More like playing whack-a-mole than solving a crossword puzzle.
If you're gonna use pictures, they should be large and clear enough that a person can see what they are.
Ugh. How are you supposed to know whether to do rebuses, get the downs right, or get the acrosses right? I didn't get the memo. But then I'm no Lynn Hill either.
Not only was this puzzle groaningly bad, but it brought to mind an even worse song that I'd long since forgotten: "What Did Della Wear?" (Showing my age.) Theme puzzles can be truly clever and well-constructed, as Thursday's pizza puzzle showed, but this one? Ugh.
@Steve L Yeah, I got that, but either the across line or the down line doesn't make sense. The best rebuses, for example, are ones where the two or three letters you fill in work both ways. This puzzle "solution" doesn't look right to me.
60A was stupid. Fortunately, you could fill it in without ever "getting" it. I wish the puzzle program didn't jump around so much. I'd be happier if I had to move everything manually.
