interesting and fun puzzle today though i admit I had to reread the poem and google certain rapper. But it was broadening and amusing and puzzling in the way the best puzzles are and had some clever word play in the cluing. Hope to see more from this clever person. I am clutching my pearls at the meanness and proud ignorance of so many comments. Many seem well beyond the bounds of civility. It reflects the times we live in Im afraid.
Thank you for teaching me about cat’s ear! And I appreciate the link in Wordplay. Very fun puzzle!
This is the best Monday puzzle for a long while. Thank you! (And I still have an error somewhere...)
@Henrik You are right. it is a pawpaw, native to 26 US states and our largest fruit. Some southern children call their Grandpa “Papaw”, but i never heard pawpaw called that. But maybe somewhere…Kind of a messed up clue and commentary. But still a very nice puzzle, in which i still have an error.
minor quibble: doilies have nothing to do with fine place setting Still a fine puzzle and i am eager to follow up on the poem connection
very cute ending “revealer” on an iphone. Thanks. nice Thursday fun.
Dear Deb, We will miss you enormously. Best wishes on that privilege of free time. You may consider an occasional dip back into this role—based on my own privilege of being retired.
I cleared this puzzle in order to try to make the locks work, and they did on my iphone 8s. I had to reveal to find the Jam error. so much fun to see the beautiful animation but also, surprisingly, especially to revisit the clever clues. So many made me smile.
i am too stupid to get the o messages but solved it anyway. I will look again. I do love these puzzles and I am bringing my adult and faraway children along with shared screens video calls.
I love this puzzle. Thanks! hard but inviting.
Where do diners call french fries frog sticks?
@JBW Thanks. I initially rejected rhis one for some reason. only ever. But your tip made it fun.
ARO and NUYORKIAN and EAP are nu to me but i am willing to learn solvable on crosses
nice crunchy Monday.Thanks!
@Linda Jo a bit rude any day
I don’t know how to make the locks turn. I still have an error so maybe they thrn when the puzzle is complete. ?
@Judith Nelson i had to check puzzle because i had culture setters as libs. 🤓 still like it better
I LOVED this puzzle. Interesting references to music i don’t know and such a fun trick with esc. Very empty to start and then fun progress with witty clues. Key for a child prodigy 😊 having read the comments, I think i will avoid wordplay today since i so thoroughly enjoyed it.
