Would still be in a bottomless pit had I not done puzzle check at the end for ABYSM. Unfortunate theme. And how many times has abysm appeared in the NYT crossword? I’d say never since 1851.
Fun puzzle, but way too simple for a Saturday, imho.
PB Thursday for me - cute but easy illustrations.
New PB at a little over one third of my Friday average. Enjoyable if not a tad too easy for Friday. More like a Tuesday puzzle. But maybe the puzzle editor is striving to be like the rest of NYT lately.

I really enjoy your puzzles. But I can’t support this “news org” any more. Won’t be renewing at the end of the month. Good luck surviving this wave of cancellations.
