THAT was a great puzzle. Saturday hardness but a fun puzzle anyway. I love when I can get nothing in a whole section on first pass (NW) and then come back after conquering the rest to watch it all fall in place. “Jazz aficionado” and “flame proof” my favorite clues ;)

What a clever theme! Reminiscent of this year’s (much harder and less pleasant) puzzle 5 at ACPT! Thanks for a nice end to my day!

Hated it until I read the blog and figured out the trick. I wish I had noticed it while solving! In retrospect very impressive.
