All due respect to Janis Joplin, the line (3 Down) was written by Kris Kristofferson, who passed away just this past September 28.
@KK I once got lost in Lynn, MA trying to drive to the turnpike heading for Maine from Logan airport. That clue filled itself in for me!
@Dave Munger I went first with LOOKEY
@Jim I think I can see the point. For example, in the phrase "new red car" the two words in front both describe the car, unless of course there is a new shade of red, which should probably have its own name like candy-apple or fire engine.
Today the page says I solved the puzzle in 3 seconds. This happened once before. It did not affect my streak, and it appears not to have done so today. Still, it is odd as well as impossible. Has this happened to anyone else?
9 Down: Kris Kristofferson wrote the song, not Janis. Fred Foster is also credited on the album, but he had a habit of insinuating his name into the credits of many up-and-coming songwriters.
