Ok, Anglo? Many Irish people would question that . . .
The web version was also messed up. I initially guessed that I needed the rebus and would need double letters in some squares. But it was very confusing, so much so that I had to use the Puzzle Check function. However, the puzzle check accepted and validated only ONE of the two letters in several of the two-letter squares, and when I tried to enter the second letter myself into those boxes it wouldn't let me. Whereas on other rebus squares, it required me to enter both letters correctly?? Does someone have an explanation? Then when I "completed" it, the puzzle automatically added the missing second letters back into the squares where it hadn't let me enter them. If this was designed to be this way, it was an impossible solve.
I first had EWES and MAAS, but that wasn't working. Different species and sounds! I really enjoyed this one.
@essay I so agree! Clever and enjoyable.
@Barry Ancona It's a flaw. It should be consistent across the puzzle.
@RP In my case the letters were automatically put back in to the missing squares after I completed the puzzle, so I did see it all at the very end, but was too irritated to enjoy it.
