My quickest solve yet (44 minutes...so you can see I am not speedy) and I did not hit the "check word" or check puzzle" button once (a first)! So I am happy with my first Saturday puzzle of 2026 !!

I was so happy that I ended up solving everything with not a single "check word" or "check puzzle" although I was sorely tempted at the beginning when the grid was looking grim ... and very empty. I am fascinated (and impressed)by all you speedsters. I like to take my time, enjoy my coffee, leave the puzzle for a bit, then come back with fresh eyes to continue solving. To each his own, I guess.

@SP OMG ... me too! I totally was looking for a series that also had a movie (for the Oscar part) and even after getting Sesame Street, I did not make the "Oscar" connection. (this is why I love reading the comments!)

@ThunderYes, a let is called when the serve lands in the service box (hence not a fault), but hits the net en route. You get a do over.
