Push up targets for short? The NYTs puzzle has become less prudish over time but surely the first thing that popped into my mind wasn’t correct.

I was a little annoyed at the Chinese surname but the crossings were grokable. All in all, a satisfying Saturday puzzle.

On my iPhone I had to take a screenshot and enlarge the pic to see the 12 men were scowling in ‘anger’

I was prepared to be annoyed till the “oh, that’s the trick” moment.

Oh, man, this was a hard one. Got some critical help from my wife and managed to suss it out

Trivial beef: I can’t say I’ve *never* sipped my OJ from a cup but 99% of the time I’ve used a glass.

I caught on to the trick fairly quickly but burned too much time trying to come up with something other than a one square rebus. Uh lesse… y = mx b is the equation for a straight line… uh … Took a cup of coffee to finally do the forehead slap. Fun puzzle. Hats off to the constructor.

Once again please explain the acceptable way to answer rebus answers. Across first, slash, down or down, slash, across or either with no slash.
