As a Xennial who grew up with and still very much loves video games, of course I was delighted by today’s crossword. But also amused that what I find myself thinking about is not all the fun themed features, clues, and references but rather that RED HAIR is most definitely not the first thing that came to mind as Jessica Rabbit’s most striking feature. On a less frivolous note, those still waving away video games as trivial, childish, or unserious four decades into the Mario era are sadly missing out on a canon of storytelling that can be every bit as rich, stirring, and thought-provoking as theatre, film, or literature. Last year’s Game of the Year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, is a masterpiece in every sense of the term.
