@Esmerelda When I first learned French, I was just as surprised to hear it called "MacDo." Mickey Ds in the US, MacDo everywhere else I've ever been.
@Roberto a WINLESS SEASON can indeed be a WINTER. It is also called a dry spell, a drought, or something else suggesting that nothing is growing, that no fruit appears in the orchard.
@Emma "Peers" can be a clue for EQUALS (two peers in a discipline, of "equal" skill), and of course Shift with the Equal key gives you a PLUS SIGN. It's a twice-removed clue, which was too tricky for me to sort out without lots of fill first.
