@DocP Foxy and Benny are too precious. I just had to have my dear old chocolate Lab Pete put to sleep, and a coworker told me to avoid all things dog-related for a while; but I'm finding that doing just the opposite is a balm to my feelings. So thank you for sharing your pups with us! Wishing long life and excellent health from this point for your beautiful Foxy and Benny.
@KandB Except that "wordy pollution" isn't a phrase (note that Slumber/party, Horse/power, etc. in the clues are all known phrases).
I don't mind a rebus puzzle. And I figured out the bidirectional rebus aspect pretty fast. But a bidirectional rebus just seems like sloppy puzzle-writing. I can't remember ever being bored by a Sunday puzzle before, and I've been solving for forty years. Meh, I'm sure some will find it just ducky.
I found this puzzle exceptionally challenging until I hit on the premise with Slumber/party. How incredibly clever that the clues in themselves are known phrases, and then the answers are just a letter apart! I can't even imagine how much Horse/power one must have intellectually to put this together. And the pangram aspect went right over my head! A delight!
@N.E. Body In a strict sense, no, a volt is not a unit of power. In a colloquial sense, it absolutely is.
@Edward I adored this puzzle, and to me it seems it would have been more fun to solve than to construct, but in any case, what has one to do with the other? I'm delighted to have some Naticks and flyspecks from time to time. They help me learn and grow.
@Jackson It seems what you're really complaining about is that there are things you don't know.
Did anyone else try MARCA REGISTRADA instead of TRADEMARK SYMBOL?
