The facility horse races are held on is called a race track. One goes to “the track” to spectate or bet. It’s a perfectly legitimate albeit tricky clue that does not need or merit a question mark.

@maggie I think the colloquialism “but good” in the clue is the hint that the answer might itself be a bit slangy.
