Gosh you folks can be tough on the puzzle creators. I’m just happy to finish one. I don’t know the names of tv actors, authors I haven’t read, or oddball food ingredients so I spend a bit of time with Google on Fridays and Saturdays. But it’s always enjoyable to take a quiet hour to solve the puzzles. So thanks to the brilliant people who give me that time to be surprised and delighted by the answers and the clues.
@B I can’t tell you how often I’ve been relieved to fill in oreo
I’ve been doing the Sunday puzzles for years but just clicked on the link to this discussion for the first time. Sheesh. Feels like I’ve come in from the wilderness.
Here’s another shout out to all you brainiacs. Yesterday, I asked a question about a clue and 4 people answered! Thank you all so much. Not really sure I completely get the answer though. LOL
This was a fun one. Here’s a question for the group. I usually solve the Sunday puzzle in 60 to 90 minutes. Recently I bought a printed Sunday Omnibus book of past NYT Sunday puzzles. They seem SO MUCH harder. I’m not so much bothered by clues featuring entertainers I don’t know, I expect that in an older puzzle. But the regular clues seem so obtuse. Has anyone else found this to be true? All edited by Will Shortz.
I thought this one was crazy fun. Because I read this forum, I knew going in that a Thursday would have a twisT. Loved it.
26 down. You can find her in this clue (hidden). ERIN What in the world does that mean?
