9.5/10 for Friday difficulty. Some very clever clues, and none that I felt were unfair (like some random Oscar winner for Best Costumes in the '70s). Frankly, I think SAFETYSCHOOL is rather brilliant and throwing in a good Yiddishism is quite appealing to this NYC Jew.
@Christopher TOTALLY! If using a foreign language in the puzzle, it must at least be correct!
My Saturday record! 31 mins. Very clever puzzle with some fun clues. PENSET had me for a while, as did FISTS. And perhaps I have amnesia, but I never heard of (let alone watched) SAMANTHAWHO. But it all came together nicely. Thanks for a good, challenging, yet not insanely hard, Saturday!!!
After a very hard Thurs, Fri and Sat, I was happy to have a nice easy and fun solve. I must admit that KIT-KATs are among my favorite candy bars. Now I relax and enjoy a guilt-free treat!
@Bill Thank you! Was wondering about that one. Fun & challenging puzzle and now I feel a little smarter.
Too easy for Friday. 17 min. I kinda feel cheated. Wed & Thurs this week both much more difficult. This could have been a Wednesday and no one would have questioned it. Going for 100 day streak tomorrow, so now I have to think the Xword gods will throw something hellish at us...
@NovelaMaven Theranos! Elizabeth Holmes sham blood testing company (you can visit her in the joint if you wish)
@Ricky Agree it's not a good clue. Also got it but could figure it out
@Shimmer Absolutely agree. Both words are suspect at best.
@Jim it's NOCAP And I don't get it either. Would love someone to explain.
@Ann races would be measured in KMs, hence 'divisions' One of many very tricky clues in this one!
@Joe Horton Agreed, just ridiculous
I am very confused. I filled in the rebuses (rebi?) with every combination of ONE,ONE TWO,FOUR THREE,NINE All answers correct No music or gold star!!! Wasted 15 min Then I did simply ONE, TWO & THREE and, bingo. So, what the F? Can someone enlighten me???
