Magic trick perhaps, but when the artifice is bigger than the feat itself, it leaves me unimpressed. Too clever by half if you ask me.

Random typos in the theme words? I think "I guess they couldn't bother to make it work" NOT "Clever twist."
@Daniel Good idea if the "cryptids" used were homophones. But they are not. Just 'kinda sounds like typos."

@john ezra It is like he force fit the grid to an idea of a clever theme. Never mind all the three letter fill and dead-ends in the grid, the theme was too good to pass up...

@ellie I appreciate your interpretation, but typos don't make me question the existence of a word/thing. It only flashes "ERROR. ERROR" to me.
