@Heidi 1. me! irk is annoyed/bothered, ire is anger/rage. 2. 'on' is correctly used here. if you where to stand on a diamond, the base would be the safest. the base isn't whats 'on' the diamond, the thing that's being 'safe' is. think of it like, high place to stand on a house: roof. 3. this isn't really true, before apple was the default assumption everyone i knew would specify apple icloud. it might differ depending on if someone was already very familiar with personal tech at the time or if apple was their first exposure? there's definitely a difference between admitting you didn't know something, asking if it's actually common, and claiming your idea must be the obvious one. but honestly, even if it wasn't, that's how these puzzles always are T_T finding out new phrases/terms that are totally normal for thousands of people... as an australian it can make even the mondays difficult ;;
@Chelsea the difference is NPCs are non-player characters, so the hint is in 'players'. ^-^ bots are computer controlled players in multiplayer games where there aren't enough real people to fill a lobby. people tend to call real players they think are bad 'bots', so maybe there's the confusion?
knew of go ham but couldn't think of it in the moment until i filled out the rest and remembered esme! the other clues in SW were super straightforward for me so struggling with one letter is not much to complain about, especially when i never know at min. 10 clues... expressing the struggle is completely valid but the outright negativity i've seen is silly! oh to think crosswords should cater to your knowledge exclusively. find joy in learning new things, thats real brain exercise! (if i told off every crossword creator that wrote clues i didn't understand/words i don't know i'd be banned for spam...)
