Many nursery rhymes have their origins in political, or other, satire, thinly veiled. Might this be the reason why falling is a recurring theme?

@Andrzej I agree that if you are going to play an American puzzle you can't complain about needing to know about American trivia, or American brands, or American folklore, etc. But you must admit, that in this puzzle there is very little of this, maybe only two along this line, so, yes, easier for non-Americans.
