All summer long I have had Kenny Loggins “Return to Pooh Corner” pop in and out of my head. ‘Winnie the Pooh doesn’t know what to do. Got a Honey Jar stuck on his nose. He came to me asking help and advice. From here, no one knows where he goes’ An album and song I haven’t listened to in ages. I can recall telling my mom as I looked at the title “We have to bring it back”. She was confused, “What? Bring what back?”. “It says ‘Return to Pooh Corner.’” I still have her Tigger pin on my hand bag.
I believe this was my first Monday puzzle solved on Sunday. Promising start to the week?
I never thought I would see DDR as an answer. A flood of memories washed over me. My best friend’s family had all of the greats when it came to gaming consoles and accessories. Including DDR. Played in between ‘Ocarina of Time’ meltdowns.
I wanted 59A to be Frolicking so bad. Rollicking is new one for me.
@Megan I only knew of it from watching ‘Sagwa’ on PBS kids. That, and ‘Xièxiè’ (thank you)
65D, the one in my window should have been put away a month ago. Now I’m really feeling the heat.
Round and round we go, where we stop? Nobody knows. Enjoy your travels and new adventures Deb!
I think AI scrubbing our toilets sounds like the start of every doomsday film. Expecting the vastly intelligent MOD to do all the grunt work. “We’ve built in failsafes!” they announce, SNUBbing the TEST footage. A few DAMNEDLIES for some EVAGREEN. All this horror to bypass cleaning up after UMAMIBOMBS. The Emus are not going to enjoy this.
@Grant I had a petite friend in school who had many adjustments in their car because of their stature. I too found myself taking the clue literally.
@Responder I can’t recall when the switch happened, but it did! We went from brown and teal sashes to vests. It was around the same time our troop stopped learning the same thing the Boyscouts were learning. No more camping or survival badges. Instead focusing on entrepreneurial skills. Convenient for the cookie empire. Looks like it’s expanded again though.
@SP I was today years old when I found out what “Go Ham” truly means. I guess it would be “Go H.A.M.”? My naivety tied it to the pork side. Akin to Hog Wild.
Curious about other opinions. When does the experience of self, cross over into egocentrism? We each have individual needs and to different degrees. Is it strictly the motivation of action? Kind of an old argument, but doesn’t volunteer work become egocentric because it makes us feel good?
@john ezra You’re not sure you entirely get it, so what do you get from the poem? I had never heard of it before so I’m interested to read your take. Thank you for sharing!
@Tim I had to look up Ells, “a wing of a building perpendicular to the main section. Bussing is a term of endearment as far as I understand. Rat pack? My best guesses.
