Didn't care much for this one. I know the NYT says Sunday puzzles are supposed to be Wednesday-hard, but this one was harder than the preceding Friday and Saturday, with so many obscurities that I felt like I had no chance. Too much reliance on cultural references that mean nothing to anyone born in the 20th Century. At least I knew Al Oerter.

Phil Simms did not QB the Giants to two Super Bowl wins. He led them to one win over Denver but was injured and could not play in the second win over Buffalo. Jeff Hostetler was the QB for the Buffalo SB.

It shows as done and it recorded the time correctly, but when I tried to show someone the weirdness and re-opened the puzzle came up all blank. I hope I don't lose my streak of 223 solves over this issue.

American (the airline) has hubs at Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, and Charlotte, but, regrettably, not at Kennedy. So 111 down threw me.
