@dutchiris Because filling your puzzle with proper nouns, especially crossed ones, is lazy construction and makes for a lame puzzle.
@Linda glad I wasn't the only one!
Hung on FIVE crossing proper nouns. What an awful puzzle.
What is "SITSPAT"? S ITSPAT? SI TSPAT? SIT SPAT? SITS PAT? SITSP AT? SITSPA T? I am at a loss. PS: Solved it in under 8 minutes pretty slow for me.
Can anyone explain 'Mer contents' - EAU? My last word of the puzzle and one that left me scratching my head.
Thanks, Adam. I definitely had more than a LIL fun with this puzzle.
18-down, 26-down, and 36-across... A double Natick that really spoiled a nice puzzle.
@Regine nothing gives pretentious NYT puzzlers more satisfaction than insisting that obtuse nonsensical themes were in fact perfectly simple.
@Becca to me, crossed proper nouns get into Natick territory but I suppose everyone's specific knowledge varies.
