Great puzzle, Katherine! Trucked through this one with ease, and it was very fun to fill! Keep up the great work! :)
@Jemima C Same! Very easy, and it became my first Thursday completed on my own without Google! I liked it! ;)
This Monday puzzle felt "very clean" (if you've seen "A Hard Day's Night," you would understand how apt this is for the puzzle), in the sense that the fill wasn't overly reliant on that crosswordese garbage. A lot of the fill felt very satisfying to put in, really. The theme was also cute, with the "ELOR" in each one. Not perfect, but definitely a 4/5 star Monday. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great puzzle! I was stuck for a bit, until I realized that 42A ended with "DARLING," not "LADY" (due to the Bridgerton clue). Was a wee bit trickier than usual, but still a great puzzle nevertheless!
Just wanted to say this, but I do agree with a lot of you. This puzzle was EZ-PZ. Once you get one, it's just a big ol' fill-in-the-blanks theme. It was just like the Groundhog Day puzzle. It was kind of neat, but it got extremely easy from the get-go. 3 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Keep it up, y'all! ;)
The puzzle was great! Not an issue at all! Laughed at 24A when I figured it out! Keep it up, guys! ;)
Neat puzzle. Didn't really care much about the theme, but the puzzle wasn't bad. I put IDY instead of ILY; the reason why I realized my mistake was that I encountered articles explaining the difference between this and "Devil Horns." Whoops! Anyways, see ya'll tomorrow hopefully! :) (Today was also my first NYT puzzle done without Google, so that's nice! 🥳)
Today was an easy yet easing Tuesday puzzle. Had a brain fart and was confused until I remembered "suite" isn't pronounced as "suit." 🫠 I liked the puzzle, except for one little nitpick. 5D, "Playground Retort," is SO lazy imo. I get it's a Tuesday, and it's probably the only way besides a fill-in-the-blank to clue this, but still. (Btw, I do also realize "AMSO" is the only 4-letter word, right?) Overall, I still like the crossword. Very cute, I have to say, and very "suite." Welp, C you, and Merry Christmas to y'all! 🎅
The puzzle was good; I was sitting for a while, wondering why I wasn't a "You did it!" message, until I realized that I put HOLES instead of POLES. Oops! Great collab puzzle, and creative theme! See ya! :)
Today was a good puzzle! I got 1D and 16D pretty fast (huge rock fan!), and I had to sit a bit after finishing the puzzle to figure out the theme, when I decided to Google 'castle show' and looky there! Great puzzle!
@mariel :) That's great! Always feels good when that happens! Keep up the great work!
That puzzle was great, Nate! Flew through it fast and got a new world record! I enjoyed this one more than yesterday's. Keep it up! :) [Word of the Day: 12D]
Great puzzle, but I had reverse logic on the dog-napping clue. Originally, I thought it meant where a dog would lie down and rest, but when I figured out the word, I thought the wordplay was that it meant dog-napping. Oopa! Cruised through this one, though! Great when I realized what it was! :)
Nice puzzle. Fill was easy, and due to my inexperience of traveling, I didn't get what the theme meant until I came here. Whoops! Anyways, happy new year! :)
I liked the puzzle. I found out the theme faster than a jackrabbit! The theme itself was alright, but it never really gave any second thought after the puzzle. Wasn't really my favorite. I finished off the puzzle in the SW corner, thinking 55D was TRAM at first (idk why), and consequently being stuck in the corner for a while until Beach Boys lyrics were surfing through my mind and made me realize 50D was COUPE, and subsequently changed my answer to TBAR and solved the puzzle. Overall, it was a good puzzle, even with the weak theme. Keep it up, guys! :)
@JBW Probably won't ;]
Great start, Jonathan! Never heard of ENZ; I'll have to check them out someday! 1D is my favorite clue of today's puzzle. Keep it going, Jonathan! :)
Finished this while watching the Pooper Bowl! Nice puzzle, too! :)
To be honest, I wasn't even fooled by the FLIER/NILLA situation. I had to remember whether it was VILLA or NILLA, but I guessed NILLA, which was right! :) Also, I don't think I've ever used it spelled 'FLYER' in my life. Like, ever. Overall, great puzzle, with the controversies subsided. Had a brain fart and said 'ALU' instead of 'ALA,' but nothing crazy. Keep it up!
@Tom R Always a great feeling when that first happens. Great work, and keep it up!
@Jacqui J Mine is TARSE, every single dumpin' day. Oh, and the puzzle was good; I was sitting for a while, wondering why I wasn't a "You did it!" message, until I realized that I put HOLES instead of POLES. Oops! Great collab puzzle, and creative theme! See ya! :)
To be honest, I didn't figure out the theme until I finished the puzzle. Y'all are going to disagree with me, but it didn't really make a huge splash with me. It was cute, but once I got the first two, it was just fill-in-the-blanks in a crossword format. It was a fine puzzle, yet not eye-popping. There's a debut word, though! (42D) Alright, that ENDS my rant. Ciao!
@Barry Ancona I'm American, and even I would use FLiER over FLYER. FLYER sounds more like a pilot or something that flies. (Yes, I know why somebody may call that a FLyER, but still)
Today was surprisingly easy, my first ever completed Friday crossword! Yipee! I expected to be on the struggle bus for 10 years with this puzzle, but I quickly went through and realized just how easy this was! Great puzzle! :)
@at Hot Take: I disagree with the dictionary and use 'FLiER,' with an 'i.'
