For a Monday and an American Holiday (which is rather saddening to me due to a multitude of factors), this puzzle lightened up my overall mood. For example, 7 down the clue should be “what our current president does every time he speaks”, 8 down should have been, “what the current president, administration, and the maga cult are trying to whitewash”, 44 down should have been, “what so many are fearing they’ll have to do”, and 50 down should have been, “what our current VP apparently likes to satisfy himself with” which actually made me laugh! Other than that, I enjoyed the theme and solved it in a little over a half hour! Anyways, I apologize in advance for my bluntness about the “should have been clues” but anymore I’m trying to get my PerMinions (personal opinions) before I am no longer allowed due to my choice not and never to be loyal to a criminal. I hope all my fellow NYTers are having a Marvellous Monday and if you celebrate Happy Memorial Day and Namaste!!

Wow! I actually completed it in less than an hour. Yes, I’m not nearly as good as the majority of NY Times Crossworders. I definitely feel smart and confident about myself today lol! Best of luck to everyone especially now. One day at a time just like one puzzle at a time! Namaste!!

Well done! I certainly enjoyed today’s puzzle especially since it’s my birthday and essentially my new year! I ended up finishing it with the time being 1:38:03 and I turned 38 at exactly 8:27 hours and it’s the 1st month of the year too. Yes, I’m into numerology and it took me longer than usual to do loved ones contacting me lol! Life is certainly full of ups and downs though and I really liked how those 4 answers ended up being off by a letter but the grid and circled letters made it more interesting and fun! Thrilling Thursday and Namaste!!

I enjoyed this puzzle especially for a Saturday! The hint for 30 across should have been, “The current president has a fragile one”, the hint for 62 across should have been, “the current president of the United States is considered one”, the hint for 31 across should have been, “the Maga Cult gulps it”, and the hint for 32 down should have been, “it was raised so VP Vance could have a better time”. I apologize in advance for offending you but remember that it’s a “YOU issue” and not mine. Hopefully all my fellow NYTers are having a Spectacular Saturday and Namaste!!

If I complete it in less than an hour then I’m satisfied. It took me 42 minutes today and of course I always get more focused/motivated when there’s a theme. Thanks again and have a Marvellous Monday! Namaste!!

Given that I solved it less than an hour and there was a theme, I dug it especially for a midweek puzzle! Sadly while doing it, certain answers like CIA, FBILAB, and CDC naturally got me thinking about my True Crime fascination and how those agencies are going to be affected big time and therefore, so many people who have lost loved ones are never going to have that chance of closure so to speak. Many Cold Cases aren’t going to be solved due to the lack of support/funds from the government. Of course I’m still having SLIVERS of hope though! Anyways, hopefully my fellow NYTers are having a Wonderful Wednesday and Namaste!!

For the last week or so, I’ve started doing the Crossword Puzzle after finishing Wordle, Spelling Bee, The Mini Crossword, Letter Box, Tiles, and Strands. Today I actually finished it in less than an hour! I know it’s probably not a big deal to others who complete it a lot faster, but I’ve completed The Mini in less than a minute at times. I LOVE when there is a theme/code in the puzzle and I really enjoyed it too! Thanks again and Happy Christmas!! Namaste.

This puzzle was SUPER fun and I totally loved how some letters/words were written in as well. Given that it’s April Fools, it was definitely a great idea; however, I wouldn’t mind having that happen every so often though. It makes the puzzle even more interesting! Of course the theme was perfect since we’re approaching “holiday season” with traveling. Naturally, not seeing any political things is always best for me lol! Anyways, I hope my fellow NYTers have a Terrific Tuesday along with Happy April Fools Day! Namaste!!

I concur with pretty much everything that others have stated but I believe it was 30 or 36 down (consumed with grief) and it was STRESSATE. I had a tough time getting that but after awhile I literally said out loud (I SEE IT NOW) since I had already gotten that one, but yes people typically eat when they’re consumed by grief/stressed out; however, I don’t! I can’t eat when I’m either stressed and/or happy. I’ve dropped weight over the last few days for obvious reasons. Namaste my fellow Crossworders and have a wonderful weekend!! xo

Wonderful debut and very entertaining theme as well! It really brought me back to my good ole days of being clever with the calculator along with using codes with my friends in notes and/or talking to each other in code too. The only thing that I’m going to say is the clue for 30- should have been, “Attack, as a capitol”. At this point, let’s just call it as it is/was unfortunately. It’s no secret! Anyways, hopefully my fellow NYTers are having a Super Sunday Funday and Namaste!!

@Michelle I had the same issue as you! Whenever I am reading down, some words don’t make sense to me right away like reading across. Maybe the clue should have been, “the president who the current one always compares himself with but is the complete opposite” lol! Namaste!!

Solved the Sunday puzzle in a little over an hour which is pretty good for me considering that I don’t look things up and I don’t reveal letters. The theme was pretty good too! The one thing that I was mad about was the answer to the informal term for a dollar. Given that it was 4 letters, I was sure that the answer was BUCK instead of CLAM. I’ve NEVER said or possibly even heard someone say, “I won 20 CLAMs off the scratch off ticket”. Perhaps it’s just my neck of the woods, but CLAM doesn’t make sense to me at all lol! So glad no “politicians” weren’t involved either! I’ll gladly type ETON instead of the L after the E but before the O and N. Anyways, thanks again and I hope you’re all enjoying your Sunday Funday my fellow NYTers and Namaste!!

Given that there was a theme, I didn’t have to type/see/read anything about current “politicians”, and I solved it in 44 minutes without any help, I’d say it’s totally worth it and great job especially for a dreary morning. I hope my fellow NYTers have a Marvellous Monday and Namaste!!

I actually enjoyed this puzzle! Solved it less than an hour, had a theme which went vertical rather than horizontal (I find that it’s mostly horizontal highlighting), and the theme reminded me of Jerry Seinfeld too since he’s a huge cereal buff lol! That movie he made was awesome, but I digress. I wish the clue for 6 down was different given that I can’t stand seeing terms with that UGLY name in it. Anyways, thanks again and I hope my fellow NYTers are having a Wonderful Wednesday. Namaste!!

For the record, LL COOL J did put out a song called “Going Back to Cali” in nineteen EIGHTY Eight, NOT 1998. In 1998, it was The Notorious BIG/Biggie Smalls/Christopher Wallace. I know my old school rap and I’m sure I’ll be challenged, but in my mind it’s always going to be Biggie lol! I legit got confused when I saw the puzzle due to the trees since I thought if anything, it’d be eggs. The last time I saw trees on the puzzle was Christmas. Overall, I enjoyed the puzzle regardless of the error and some of the words being used. It was sweet seeing how certain words turned into another when it was completed such as ASH to RASH. Anyways, I hope my fellow NYTers are having a Thrilling Thursday and Namaste!!

After being ill with the VID for the last several days, I finally managed to feel well enough today and play my NYT games. I had some trouble when I started but after the clue of, “it might change your perspective” I saw it was 3 letters and went with my first guess which was LSD. I didn’t think I was right though but it turned out that I actually was correct! My confidence was better and I started having fun with it. Of course, “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” by The Beatles was playing in my head for awhile too lol! Much appreciated puzzle, namaste!! xo

Awesome job and debut for the friends! Since there was a theme and no current “political people/agendas” were involved then I’m completely satisfied. I surely had a nostalgia moment when I saw the hint, “Reading Rainbow” because I remember watching that show in school sometimes. Also, I agree with the writer regarding SAGE! Can someone explain to me what PDAS means about it being the predecessor of the smartphone? Thanks again and I hope my fellow NYTers have a Wonderful Wednesday and Namaste!!

@SRD same here! It’s always nice when people embrace their humility and not freak out and start playing the blame game. Perhaps if a certain someone actually admitted their defeat by saying, “I LOSE” then domestic terrorism wouldn’t have happened. Also, that’s a nice bit of history regarding the very first plane and the NYTimes. I’m still trying to figure out what PDAS means lol! I know PDA means Public Display of Affection but when it comes to it being the predecessor of the smartphone, I’m lost! Namaste!!

This was the first day in a few where I actually felt like doing my NYT games. My dog, Brandi Girl died very suddenly on Friday morning. Still in shock/grief mode. Anyways, this was a pretty good puzzle especially for the beginning of the week. @Barry Ancona thanks for the clarification! I didn’t start doing the crossword puzzles until the fall of 2024 so it’s only been about 6 months now. Great job even though there wasn’t necessarily a highlighted theme and no current “politicians” were involved! As usual, it took me less than an hour to complete and I don’t look anything up and never have yet either. Thanks for the shoutout on 29 across given that I’m a Double Aquarius and Pisces!! The clue was super on point too. I’d love to see more Astrological terms in the future puzzles please! Those who aren’t familiar with the subject are legit surprised when I explain that Aquarians are AIR SIGNS rather than Water. Yes, it’d make more sense for it to be a Water sign given the name but then again there’s really 13 Constellations. Just like how we really should have 13 months in a year with each month being 28 days long too. Okay I’ll stop with my “S*it Made Up By Man” rant now lol! Anyways, thanks again and I hope my fellow NYTers are having a Spectacular Saturday! Namaste!!

@Chet yup unfortunately accuracy along with checks and balances aren’t either. It explains why every other country is laughing at us literally and metaphorically. If you’re rich then you’re above the law, if not then you’re pretty much a 2nd class citizen who shouldn’t be allowed to live here (regardless if you were born on US soil) and below the law. No middle ground at all which is saddening. Forever hoping and praying for a miracle, Namaste!

@Mean Old Lady anymore, I’ve sadly come to terms with the fact that I’m never going to be rich such as a millionaire or billionaire so I’ll be treated like a 2nd class citizen especially since I’m a woman who can’t produce children. Therefore; my freedom of speech is limited. Pretty much if you’re rich then you can say/do anything you want without any consequences. The rich loyalists are above the law and the poor non loyalists are below the law. However; I just remind myself that this thing called life is only temporary and take one day at a time. I cry at least once a day since it cleanses the soul. Also, at least I know in my heart that I truly tried my best and while my bank account may be low, I’m not morally bankrupt! I absolutely loved this puzzle and the theme! I’m a big fan of the show and I loved Mr. Alex Trebek too. So hats off to the theme creator. 43 across, the answer should have been BOGUS! 46 across, the hint should have been “Spice Girl who was all about the little black dress”. 71 across, hint should have been “what the current president and his cult does with hate”. 72 across, hint should have been, “another name to describe the current president”. 3 down, the answer should have been, “BLAMEGAMES” 51 down, the answer should have been “TRUMP”. I apologize in advance if any of this offends you but it’s called Freedom of Speech along with something called Honesty and Truth. Too bad The Cult Leader and his members have no idea what exactly those words actually mean. This was a good puzzle to start off a new month and essentially a new week! Here are my suggestions for the hints to a couple answers: 32 Across should have been, “the current administration and its leader have serious fragile ones” and 44 Down should have been, “what the ICE agents need to do”. I enjoyed the theme very much so since I’m pretty much all about being nude lol! Less is best!! Anyways, I hope all my fellow NYTers are having a Marvellous Monday and Namaste!
