Guess I know even less about baseball than I thought lol. I’ve never heard of any of those words as alternative terms for a home run. The revealer clue was the absolute last fill-in for me.

No one in the tattoo community refers to an artist as an INKER. In fact, most tattoo artists would never use “ink” as a verb or to refer to a tattoo (only when discussing the actual material itself). A quick Google search tells me that artists that work on comic books are called inkers; that would have been a more accurate clue.

Finished the puzzle, but did not understand the rebus until reading Word Play. Almost all of the down answers were solved using the across entries and process of elimination. Spent five minutes googling what an “OPUNCH” is, wondering if this was some regional term I’d never heard of, or if the puzzle maker had misheard “hole punch” their whole life lol
