Feel like I just got shod in the urano
Really struggled getting through this, thought I was dead but pushed through for a very rare, hint-less Saturday solve. And then, as always, come here to see everyone complaining about how easy it was. Crosswords will never not make me feel stupid. Thanks NYT.
@Dan You'd have a point if the clue read "Grocery shops without a partner" as in "I just free solo'd Whole Foods", but it is a term used specifically in climbing.
We've entered a new era of TOOT and I'm here for it.
Kudos to "Five train in Brooklyn". Cool theme.
@David Pearce I imagine the runner-up family has one. That is insane.
I'm a little rusty but this was an absolute slog for me. Good Friday workout (now where's my pastry?).
I'm reminded of how proud I am of myself for growing out of the Oxford comma, so good puzzle.
I looooved the clueing and fill today. It's funny how you feel as if you get to know a constructor from their puzzle. Have Adam back please.
@loftyc Those 40-year-old kids and their loud rap music...
I'm happy to tolerate bad fill and questionable cluing for a good theme but now I'm frustrated to the point of being overhot and need a nap like Casey Affleck
@B as someone stated above, I don't think anyone would be complaining if the circles were removed.
@Alina From "playing hooky" meaning skipping school usually
Nice, easy Tuesday. Found all the theme answers before getting to the revealer disappointingly but cute theme and good fill.
If I solve a Friday without lookups in 23 minutes, it's probably an easy one. But I had fun with this. Great fill and challenging enough (for me). It's nice to feel like you might be getting better at these even if it's just an illusion lol.
@JohnWM Hilarious if true. I'm having trouble finding a source for this though, curious where you saw this.
@Dan as it turns out, "solo" is also a climbing term.
