I do not think it is even really 'in' the language in any meaningful way as is. I'm not saying its never been used, but I think its more of a running joke to use the term than an actual word. I think it entered pop cuture in a 2011 South Park episode. Although, judging by the use of the word Snarf, it exiting the vernacular will not preclude its use in a puzzle.
